What is the International Thespian Society?
- The International Thespian Society is the only theatre honor society for middle and high school students in the country. Affiliation brings credibility and distinction to students, theatre programs, and schools. It is a visible, positive symbol of the quality of your theatre program.
- ITS recognizes, rewards, and encourages student achievement and celebrates the work of students in all aspects of theatre—performance and production. Each student is honored on a national level and gains access to opportunities and resources beyond those of their school.
- The International Thespian Society group at each school is known as a troupe, and it is led by a troupe director. A point system helps track student work, as high school and middle school students earn induction and the designation of Thespian or Junior Thespian, respectively. Students go on to earn progressively higher honors.
If you are interested in becoming inducted into our theatre honor society, please submit any productions you have participated in during high school (acting or tech) to the ITS Point Induction Form. After you have acquired 10 points, you may be considered for induction.
