Kennesaw Mountain Drama Classes
Fundamentals of Theatre I
This class serves as a prerequisite for all other drama courses. Students will develop the followiing performance skills: stage movement, pantomime, developing the actor's voice, improvisation, and character development.
No prerequisite.
Fundamentals of Theatre II
Acting skills are enhanced with scene work and in-depth character study. This class will cover techniques in advanced scene work, blocking, tempo, creative stage business, and stage combat. Prerequisite: Fundamentals of Theatre I.
Acting I (Children's Theatre)
Advanced drama students will study and produce a Children's Theatre production for the community and local elementary schools. Prerequisite: Fundamentals of Theatre I & II & Director's approval.
Advanced Drama
Advanced theatre students will have the opportunity to produce and perform in a fully mounted production. Prerequisite: Fundamentals of Theatre I & II & Director's approval.
Musical Theatre
Multi-faceted students will explore the various elements of music theatre by participating in a musical performance including acting, singing, and dance. Prerequisite: Audition/Director Approval.
Technical Theatre
Introduces technical aspects of play production; set design, set construction, stage management, lighting design, sound, publicity, and costume design. This class will serve as a requirement for students wishing to work technical crew for productions/theater events.
Advanced Technical Theatre
Students continue to learn and develop skills in all areas behind the scenes of a stage production. Students may be required to be involved after school to serve as crew members with productions or other stage events.
